Nick Nitta

I drew this abstract picture as a way to incorporate some of the things we learned during this unit. I call it Mt. Venus. I don't think it's hard to miss that this mountain has features of female genitals. However subtle or not this may be, the idea was based off of Georgia O'Keeffe's work. The name of the mountain references the Roman goddess of sex, beauty, and desire. The picture could be interepted different ways, like all art, but I wanted the piece to portray how men are drawn to the desire of the female body. There are several suitors who are trekking towards this large mountain and it signifies what kind of journey it might be for them to reach the summit.
