Pretty Flowers
The flowers to the right are just some regular looking flowers and theres not really anything special about them. Below I drew a more elaborate scene that includes a low hanging cherry blossom tree and a Japanese styled structure in the background. I included a small pond as water is usually "a central motif in a garden of any size" (392). As you can see, the scene below is much more entertaining than the flowers pictured to the right. This highlights part of flowers' role in gardens. Gardens can often times be symbolic, but they are meant to provide humans with a place to reflect on life or just enjoy what nature has to offer.
