Safdie's Habitat

When designing my own version of Safdie's Habitat, I wanted it to have a unique design, but still be practical. To be efficient with space and land that the building would take up, I wanted to have a building with a square or rectangle base. I happened to have a Rubik's Cube on my desk and decided the rest of the design would take inspirations from that. I thought that each of the cubes could be a living space for a different family, or if a family wanted more space to live in, cubes could be combined in order to accommodate them. In my drawing, the different layouts you see in the cubes represent the different colors you would see mixed up on a real Rubik's cube. This design would allow you to build vertically, or would work well if you had groups of these spaced out together on the ground.
